Possession Limits
A possession limit is the maximum number of fish each person may have in
possession at any time, other than in their place of permanent residence. It
is not a
boat limit, a trip limit or a daily limit.
Barramundi
Throughout the Territory (except in the Mary River Management Zone - '2 barra'
possession limit) you must not have more than 5 barramundi in your possession
at any time.
Minimum size limit for Barra is 55cm
Black Jewfish
The Territory has a personal possession limit for black jewfish. Other
jewfish species are not included in the limit. This control reduces

the NT. A person must have no more than 5 black jewfish in their possession
at any
time.
Golden Snapper
Anglers must observe a possession limit of 5 golden snapper per
person.
Spanish Mackerel
The Territory has a personal possession limit for narrow-barred
Spanish mackerel. Other mackerel species are not included
in the limit. A
person must have
no more than 5 narrow-barred Spanish mackerel in their
possession at any time.
General Personal Possession Limit
A person may not possess more than 30 fish or the equivalent of 30 fish
whether the fish are whole, trunked, filleted, diced, minced or a combination
thereof. This includes both managed species listed above and non managed species.
